Moving On to a Great Year

As you’ll see throughout this newsletter, DCS was at the Precast Show, along with PCI’s adjacent meetings. We are also very excited that the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA)—with its Manufactured Stone Veneer (MSV) Division—is coming to Milwaukee in August for the group’s annual Midyear Meeting. The MSV Division is meeting on August 3 and DCS is looking forward to being there in force.

At the Precast Show in May, I got the chance to meet with many of our existing customers and—I’m pleased to say—some potential new customers. After a year of virtual meetings and e-mails, I can’t overstate how great it was to see folks in person—to be able to have a dinner with a customer. I left New Orleans after those meetings with a renewed sense of optimism about our business and our industry. It was great to see so many people so optimistic about the future.

There is no doubt that this last year was challenging, but every dark cloud has a silver lining. For us, we took the last year to learn as much as we could from the experience while hoping we never have to cope with those circumstances again. We had to open our minds this year to figure out how to keep doing what we do. We had to get creative. Now that things are slowly returning to normal, we are committed to maintaining the spirit of innovation and creativity that got us through the past year. We are operating more efficiently than ever. We’re coming up with new ways to help our customers prosper.

One of my goals as we return to normal is to continue with this mindset. Don’t be content with the status quo. Use the relaunching of “normal” to take a look at the way we have been operating. One of the things we LOVE to do here at DCS is to come in and help our customers take a comprehensive look at how they are handling color in their operations. Is there a better, easier way to get beautiful, vibrant, consistent color into the products you produce? We would love to come help you look at your options. Just pick up the phone and give us a call.

Last, but certainly not least, congratulations to DCS' hometown Milwaukee Bucks. It has been 50 long and, often, painful years since our last championship and we could not be more proud of our homegrown team. Go Bucks!!!

Here is wishing all of you a safe and prosperous summer and fall!
